INVITATION FOR APPLICATIONS
The PAYP Single programme now invites applications for activity to increase the number of young people taking part in enjoyable and purposeful activities in their free time.
Applications should target young people aged 11 to 19 years however, to compliment the ‘5x30 Time to Get Active Programme’, applications for sporting activities should target young people aged 11-16 years.
Activities that support engagement from particularly vulnerable groups of young people are encouraged as are applications that will provide support and offer programmes designed to increase young people's participation in education, training and employment.
The maximum amount for any one application is £10,000 in 2009-10 and £20,000 in 20010-11. In exceptional circumstances consideration will be given to larger allocations.
Who Can Apply?
Funding applications are invited from community and voluntary organisations that are:
- Affiliated to the Sandwell Forum for Voluntary Organisations or other related voluntary umbrella organisations
- Registered with an appropriate national sporting body (this is a requirement for sport clubs), or;
- In receipt of the Sandwell Youth Charter Award.
Extended Services Co-ops of schools may apply however consideration will be given to school balances within the Co-op, when assessing applications.

The programme has two rounds for applications as follows:-
Round One
Applications must be returned no later than 9.30am Monday 17 August 2009.
Round Two
Applications must be returned no later than 9.00am Monday 2nd November 2009
11 August 2009 - ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR PAYP FUNDING
Applications are encouraged from voluntary and community organisations that will provide support and offer programmes designed to increase young people's participation in education, training and employment, inline with the Neighbourhood Support Fund criteria.
As stated in the guidance notes (page 3)
What Activity Can Be Funded?
The emphasis of this programme will be on extending the reach and participation levels of young peoples’ involvement with positive activities.
The programme will consider applications that:
- support new and additional activities for young people.
- provide new or additional opportunities for young people to be engaged in sport, art, music, drama, general youth work activities and volunteering
- provide accredited learning opportunities to increase young people’s participation in education, training and employment.
- include small items of capital IF the capital requirements are clearly integral to the delivery of the proposed activity
