Harry's Tale
'I have been going to Sandwell Youth Theatre for over a year now. I like meeting new people there and the acting that we do. I have performed in a Shakespeare play and also made a DVD about Sandwell's history.
I go to the Conygre group drama every Tuesday 5-7pm, with my sister Molly and cousin Alfie, and I have made lots of new friends. Drama is fun, it has made me feel more confident with my acting and I enjoy it ever so much!!

Eco Warrior
In October 2007 Harry's head teacher nominated him to audition for a film being made in Tipton Litterwatch called 'ECO NEWS'. This film will go to all schools across Sandwell highlighting the importance about recycling. Harry passed the audition and was handed the script, and shortly after in November he began filming over three half-days.
He went to Post Office studios, Wednesbury, and was filmed by Pawprint Productions. Due to the tight schedule imposed there was no time for rehearsals and the production team got straight down to filming Harry really enjoyed the filming part and had great fun, especially at ASDA great bridge with a camera on a 14ft crane and a microphone.

Red carpet treatment
On 22nd February 2008 we were invited to Showcase Cinema in Dudley for a red carpet event and the premier showing of ECO NEWS. There were VIP's, local councillors, the press and also Midlands today and Central News present. The news presenters did a live link to their studios and they also showed parts of the film.

What Harry's mum thinks
'I feel that from attending Sandwell Youth Theatre, Harry has had extra confidence to perform in front of the camera and act as naturally as possible. He has learnt many skills from Rachel and Helen, and due to him acting in productions he understands the importance of being disciplined and learning his lines. He doesn't appear to get flustered or phased by any of the attention eh receives whilst in front of an audience and although anyone who knows Harry will agree that he doesn't lack confidence, he has gained a lot of skills and knowledge from attending the drama group, which has definitely helped him in the making of ECO NEWS.

As a mother taking my children to the group, knowing they are well looked after, they are having fun and learning something valuable which could lead to who knows where and being great value for money is worth everything.'
